Whatever

Whatever

A Poem by E.V. Black
"

Whatever is inside of me wants to come out.

"

Aching and breaking.

Burning and churning.

Whatever is inside of me

wants to come out.

Whatever I denied

seeks its full experience.

Too weak to resist,

I release it into the world.

You see these scars?

Crisscrossing over my heart?

Those are the tokens

of our broken friendship.

Once your lips touched mine,

I was cursed.

Whatever comes now

is my true self,

which had been waiting

for her moment to shine.

I don't know you,

never did.

Whatever.

I don't know you
never did
Whatever

How many will relate to these lines I wonder, for is it not too often the case that we never truely know some people even those closest to us. The emotion of pained rememberance shines through the darkness of this piece my friend, keep em' coming

Perhaps repressed feelings make one bitter, cause scars inside and as the scar tissue builds up, eventually it shines through and it's not pretty. Well done E.V.

I like this poem. The words "Whatever" is my least favorite word. I have four children. I like how you told the story of love scars. Some curses allow us to be wiser if we are lucky. A excellent poem.
