Mayflower

Mayflower

A Poem by E.V. Black
"

Confess what you have done.

"

Lay down now,

my sweet.

Cry the bitter

tears you've

wanted for so

long now.

Confess what

you have done.

(Chorus)

My mayflower,

the silence

welcomes you.

And if you resist,

it will grasp you

hard.

Cry yourself raw

and feel the stillness.

Mayflower,

this is only for so long.

No worries now.

All is well.

Fight the truth

of what you've

become and spit

venom at the world.

Your choices

led to this.

It's too late

to turn back now, love.

You can't get

away, love.

The truth will

haunt you.

Face the truth.

(Chorus)

You take everything

for granted.

Why bother?

You're just going to

throw it all away at the

end of the day.

Fight the truth

or face the truth.

Your choice.

But how are you going

to find the light

when you try to get out?

'Fess up and come clean.

Mayflower,

malice to them all

for what they have done,

for what you have done.

Now, that you face it,

it's harder than

you ever thought.

Leave yourself

and give up.

You're empty now.

(Chorus)

Cry yourself raw
and feel the stillness.
Mayflower,

Taking the Red Eye out of Sweet Sorrow
seat booked as was her heart
by unjust words and deeds,
tired of fighting
or simply too tired to fight she ran
but how can one run from themselves except inward
and that is where the true emptiness is found
when one no longer finds
the company of themselves enough.

Love the song/poem deep dark and deliberately painful, a pain many know. keep em coming
