Bittersweet Venom

Bittersweet Venom

A Poem by E.V. Black
"

Feel the devil's fury and might.

"

Curl...

coil...

into the

soil.

Can you not

see the unfair

brutality?

Bare the fangs

and learn to bite...

this is your only

chance to fight.

(Chorus)

Fall down--

down dead.

Into hell

we dwell

See the look on

my face?

See the terror here?

Feel the venom take you--

take you away.

Go ahead and sleep--

sleep and die.

Fight,

bite into the

flesh of enemies.

Feel the haunting pain.

Let the Brothers take

you away.

It doesn't hurt--

no, it doesn't.

Be carried down

to Hell

and feel the

devil's fury and

might.

How's my anger?

Is it right?

How's my rage?

Feel the fire?

Lay down and

let'em take you,

succumb to

your fate.

(Chorus)

Die...scream

from the pain.

Sleep...deeply.

Let this bittersweet

venom embrace

you.

The Brothers

shall take you.

Author's Note

E.V. Black
In Greek mythology, there were two twin gods, Hypnos and Thanatos. Hypnos was the god of sleep and Thanatos the god of death. Now you know who "the Brothers" are. :3

I've written quite a few attempts at songs. I don't think that they're my best area, so I've stopped writing them. I just happen to have some lyrics lying about that I felt like posting. Enjoy, my readers!

I really liked the emotion in this poem. And I especially liked the reference to Greek mythology. Uncommon references make me happy. =P
