Realize

This is how much I've changed.

 

I realize how much I’ve changed.

Long ago,

or so it feels like,

I was subdued and silent.

Unsure of who I was,

I watched the world until

I was ready to blossom.

 

Finally, I’ve become

the person I was born to be.

The beginning was

a long, hard journey

inside of myself to find

my strength, my confidence,

and my true humanity.

That journey was tough

but well worth it.

I was born this way,

so here I am.

I am finally, truly

me.

Author's Note

I don't know if many of you know this, but I write all of the original copies of my poems into my poembook. What it is is a notebook where I write all of my poems in. I finished it (it's the fourth one I've had) two weeks ago. On the last page, I always do something special for myself to commemorate the occasion.

I had started that notebook in sophomore year of high school and then stopped for a period. I had a good case of writer's block and didn't write anything for about a year. Then I restarted in junior year. In that span of time, I really changed. With this poem, which was on the last page of my latest poembook, I mark my personal transformation so proudly. I hope that you celebrate with me, my dear readers. :)

I to write my writes and ideas in composition books. My difference is I had a twenty year block. That's why my writing is so unprofected so to speak. But this poems speaks volumes of your journey and who you are. It's fill with so much emotion and love for yourself.
