Against UsA Poem by E.V. BlackTheir cruelty is only ephemeral, my love.My cheek against yours softly presses, waiting for your exhale. As I feel it, I inhale your sweet, floral scent. I can feel your body shake and shudder under my tender touch. I press my cheek harder and embrace you with all my love. Wetness coats your face and I feel my heart ache.
I know, my love. The world is against us. Everybody hates us, or it just feels like they do. Why can’t they see that we are the same as they are? Do we not have hearts that tear and cry with passionate anguish? Do we not laugh in humor and joy? Under the same sun, our smiles sparkle and reveal an equally human nature.
Their cruelty is only ephemeral, my love. Soon it will fade and they will realize the breadth of what they have done. For human hearts love as they hate with passion equal to its opposite. Soon, they will know and cry as you do. © 2011 E.V. BlackAuthor's Note
