Felicitous RaptureA Poem by E.V. BlackA girl finds her true happiness.Pain washes over my body... I remember everything... all its is pain... but...
He smiled at me so kindly and my heart jumped with joy. I felt an everlasting mirth take hold on my soul. All through the day I smiled and was warm. A single smile...
I wake up from my weird dream, looking at the window. Sunlight flooded my dull room, brightening everything in my view. A chord of hope was struck within my heart, playing out a happy melody in my soul.
Although my heart currently ached with loneliness, I pushed the feeling aside and concentrated on the day. everything and everyone looked so...so bright. It was different, but...I loved it, though. It was such a nice change of pace for once...
I spoke to him softly while he nodded and listened intently to every single word that departed from my lips. he suddenly interrupted. "Are you happy?" "Why do you ask me that?" "You just always seem so...sad." "It's just the way I am," I said, shrugging. "Well," he murmured, leaning forward in his chair, "may be this'll cheer you up." He took me by surprise by pecking me gently on the lips with a soft kiss. I gaped at him for a moment with saucer-eyes, but then I returned the kiss with just as much as passion as he had given in his.
A single kiss...
I remembered and savored, grinning like an idiot.
I met him at the bus stop, greeting him with a deep kiss. He returned it eagerly. The kids on the bus whistled and howled, but we ignored them. I hugged him, close as we boarded the bus to school. All the way, I felt his eyes on me. I pretended I didn't notice until he kissed me on the neck and embraced me from behind.
Once...just this once...I feel full and warm...fuller than I've ever been in my entire life...
For once I feel good enough. © 2011 E.V. Black |
