Let the Pain Take All

Let the Pain Take All

A Poem by E.V. Black
"

Isn't there anyone here to help me from my solitude?

"

Their voices pierce me deep.

They shout, love erupting into

anger and hate.

I sit here, writing, ignoring,

letting the pain take all.

Never...I won't answer...

GO AWAY

Leave me to wallow here.

Hurt me, I retract into the

darkness.

Let the pain take all,

let it take everything.

I don't mind

because this life is only

for so long.

So, let me drown within my

misery. None of you really

care what I do.

The rage numbs and subsides

into emptiness.

Isn't there anyone here to help

me from my solitude?

Once more I long for someone

to understand me.

Family, friends...they only

complete so much.

If I had someone to share the

burden with, it would make

life so much better.

But no one's here with me.

I'm all alone.

Allow the pain to take all,

to take my breath.

Steal it away.

I can't feel anymore.

Author's Note

E.V. Black
I'm still trying to post most of my old poetry on my account on here.
This is one of those pieces that I say I wrote long ago. I've almost forgotten what it used to be like to feel that way. Almost. I do remember it nearly every day. The one thing I will never forget is the loneliness. Just the depth of it is striking. How can you ever bear to not have someone care? That's what strikes to the core of me. I can never forget it. Never.
