Looking InsideA Poem by E.V. BlackLook inside yourself to find the true humanity.Look around you, you see a blur, a blend of many different people from various cultures. You probably single them out, separating them by ideas, skin color, religion... Can you not look beyond that? All of that?
See the flesh, feel the beating heart within the person, within people. Empathize, for they all feel the same, we all feel the same. We are human, or do you not know? Torture someone, they cry, they feel pain. Love someone, they might love you back. Break their heart, they wallow in pity. Why is it most can never see this?
We are all the same, yet different. We are different beings, unique in our build and beliefs. We are the same, though, in feeling the deepest of emotions. Prick me, I bleed. Insult me, I weep. Just as you do, maybe somewhat varied. Why can we not know that there's more to us than just...science?
Whatever creator made us, He made us equal, truly equal and built with emotions. Instead of looking up to find the answer, try looking inside because that's where the truth is.
The truth that, in the end. we're all just human. © 2011 E.V. BlackAuthor's Note
