Sense

Sense

A Poem by E.V. Black
"

Here I am, awaiting Judgement Day.

"

Improbable

unpredictable

senses spinning me

into a fine frenzy.

Sharp taste on the tongue

Severely burns me.

It flows down

my throat.

Chills cascade down my spine;

I can feel the wind upon my skin.

Smelling the sweat of the run,

of the chase.

So much that I can’t hold back now.

Fall back onto the ground

and hearing the mocking laughter.

So much that I can’t deny.

All the lies wasted on me.

Only I can see the demons

that lurk within the shadows.

Here they follow me,

there they go and disappear.

I can feel them watching me

behind my back.

They’re always watching me.

Senses tingle and pierce me with warnings,

and instincts know what is to come.

Improbable

unpredictable

senses spinning me

into a fine frenzy.

Here I am,

awaiting Judgment Day.
