SoulscapeA Poem by E.V. BlackIn a world full of superficiality, all I had was myself. The cold, wet rain hits my skin. I shiver from the icy sensation. I walk alone in this cruel world, aimlessly and misunderstood. I'm more than what I seem, but...no one can ever comprehend that. All they see is evil.
I feel the darker side of my soul stir. It's enjoying the cold rain. I don't mind it...I rather like it. So many things cloud my mind...the past, the future, betrayal, love, hate, rage... most of all darkness...
My soul is shaping and changing, scaping itself to fit my very desires. I'm changing...I know it because I can feel it. No one knows, though, that I'm different.
This darkness that hangs over me is a good one because I can feel its warmth radiating from its core. I feel I can trust it.
A stinging wind sweeps over me, blowing my hair back. Goosebumps appear on my skin as I shudder from the feeling. Wonderful, yet terrible. I love the feeling. The rain pounds harder on the concrete pavement. It soaks me, skin and bone. I love being wet.
Thick black clouds cover the moon and stars. I don't mind as long as it's night.
I've always been in love with the night because it's apart of me... always... © 2011 E.V. BlackAuthor's Note
