A Little Hope

A Little Hope

A Poem by E.V. Black
"

The transformation of a little girl.

"

There was a little girl

who lived in her little world.

She was a little lonely

and even a little sad.

Within her little piece of darkness,

she ached for some little friends

and longed for a little love.

For a little time,

she lived in a little nightmare.

A few little tears rolled down

her little face.

Throughout her little troubles,

which were bigger than they seemed,

she kept a little hope

stashed away in the back

of her little heart.

A little time passed

and her little hope

granted her little wish

of a little better life.

Before she knew it,

she opened her little eyes

to see a big world

that had enough room

in its big heart

to accept her little self.

Years passed in her

new, big life.

She no longer found that

she was a little girl.

It took a little time,

but that little girl grew

into the big girl

who, today, is me.
