Dreaming Dreams

Dreaming Dreams

A Poem by E.V. Black
"

No feeling does die.

"

I dream dreams

of shimmering, iridescent light.

Gossamer threads sparkle golden

in the butter yellow sun.

I envy their easy, eternal beauty.

Everyday, living as they are.

The same and never-changing.

Oh gossamer! how I long to be you.

How much you must see

of the world.

I dream dreams

of spindling branches

far above my head,

frosted with a careful

layer of snow.

I ponder their winding shapes

and of the dormant life within.

Oh branches! how I marvel you.

Steadfast and strong even in

the midst of tempestuous storms.

I dream dreams

of invisible, tangible love.

Nothing shown, nothing gained.

Pure feeling relying solely on behaviors.

I wonder how chemicals,

for surely they are,

are more than just reactions.

Oh emotion! how you awe me.

Beyond the bounds of death,

you live to speak..

No feeling does die.

Author's Note

E.V. Black
Quite a thoughtful poem that I thought carefully about. My personal favorite part of the poem is the very first stanza and then the last few lines about love.

"Beyond the bounds of death, you live to speak. No feeling does die."
For it's true. No feeling, as long as it is passed on, never truly dies.
