Wist

Wist

A Poem by E.V. Black
"

The artist awaits its gawking admirers.

"

Fine, thin threads

weave through the air,

dewdrops rolling down

their strong construction.

Sweet, sparkling jewels,

happy tears in the sunlight,

create a plethora

of miniscule rainbows

in the bright atmosphere.

The sun rises,

shimmering through the

artist’s masterpiece.

In a lonely corner,

the artist awaits

for gawking admirers

to stumble in.

Author's Note

E.V. Black
Unless you translated it a different way, this is the image of a spider waiting in the corner of its web for its prey to stumble into the web. There's nothing particularly special about this except the fact that I wrote it for an assignment in school a few weeks ago.
