Foreboding

Foreboding

A Poem by E.V. Black
"

The predator pursing his delicious prey.

"

Sign of warning

blares in my head.

Run! Run!

the voice urges me.

I obey and

get away.

My instincts are

alarmed.

He is the predator

and I am his prey.

Run! Run!

I run for my life.

The sweat is thick upon

my brow. I can

hear him behind me,

speeding away like

the creature he is.

Hide! Hide!

I find a hiding spot

and rest there.

I feel safe and

unharmed.

I stand still and

slow my breathing.

I listen...I hear

nothing.

Relief stabs me

until he pops

up and grabs

my wrist.

I'm done for.

I struggle and

try to get

away, but

he pulls me

to him, back

first.

He licks my

neck gently with

his tongue

and whispers

in my ear,

"You're mine."

Author's Note

E.V. Black
I do remember writing this particular poem with the intention of a vampire running after its human prey. I don't exactly remember when I wrote it, but I do know that it was quite a long time ago. May have been around the same time I first read "Twilight." xD
