Drinking the Moon's Tears

Drinking the Moon's Tears

A Poem by E.V. Black
"

She is everything. She is life.

"

La la la la la la la.…

The rain sings a soft tune

upon the earth...

Mmm hmm...mmm hmm...

Humming gently as it falls...

Oooh...oooh...oooh...

The tantalizing melody resonates

quietly, echoing in the silence...

Haaaah...haaaah...

A girl quickly joins in,

looking up at the gray

storm clouds above...

The clouds part slightly, the

wind sighing as it swiftly

brushes her long hair away

from her fair face...

The moon glows a bright

silver in the midst of all

the dreariness there is,

washing every impurity away...

The girl cups her delicate hands

as silver tears fall from the

moon's round face...

She smiles as she drinks the

moon's tears, a great sorrow

laden with joy spreading

throughout her entire body...

She dances...in her spirit,

in her soul, as a faint

ghost in a gray world...

She is everything. She is life.

Something that I wrote nearly four years ago during a rainy day. I was mystified by the storm.
