The Runner

The Runner

A Poem by E.V. Black
"

A lithe tiger after her prey.

"

Ere she springs,

muscles coil and tighten,

listening for the one sound.

Everything is still

her heart races,

waiting.

BANG!

Then, a lithe tiger

after her prey,

she takes off.

Author's Note

E.V. Black
One of the best short pieces I believe I have ever written. I believe the comparison is fluid and accurate and translates smoothly from man to nature.
