Seeds of LoveA Poem by E.V. BlackCome into the garden with me.Come into the garden with me. Together, our hands will caress and warm the earth. Place the seeds in shallow holes and cover them with the well-tilled topsoil. Then, water with a warm shower and place them in the loving rays of the sun. Before you know it, they will germinate within their warm and dark cradles. They will break from their shells and reach their green heads towards the sun.
Love will make them grow tall and bloom. As they mature, they will send out into the world precious seeds of love. In the world, hate is a weed that runs rampant. It conquers and chokes with its constricting vines. The seeds of hate are planted in hearts, where love should grow.
The seeds waft lazily into the hateful world and embed themselves in cold hearts. They feed off of what love they can salvage. The seeds of love choke and kill the vines of hate Love lends warmth, allowing its precious progeny to prosper. Then, love will grow and mature, spreading its seeds from person to person. Love will conquer all. © 2013 E.V. BlackAuthor's Note
