I am the Platypus.A Poem by MaireadA poem about Platypus'
I am so very special,
Such a rare breed, No other animal comes close, One of a kind indeed, Some think that I am a fraud, That I'm a duck, beaver or otter, In fact I am a Platypus, My habitat, fresh water, I have a coat of fuzzy fur, That is also waterproof, And we're very venomous, Without even a single tooth, We are nocturnal creatures, We like to play at night, Dusk and dawn too, We love the twilight, Although we are mammals, We differ from the rest, Burrowing deep in the ground, To lay eggs in our nest, When our young hatch, Milk is their favourite tipple, But we secrete it from our skin, As we don't have n*****s, I am a Platypus, I am unmatched in nature, Unrivalled by another, An extraordinary creature. © 2012 Mairead |
