My CrossroadsA Poem by MaireadA poem about struggling with decisions in my life.My Crossroads
Standing at the crossroads, Looking left and right, Trying to pick a path, On this darkened night, Searching for an indication, Of which road to choose, Depending on which way I go, I could win or I could lose.
The rain begins to sprinkle down, The wind is howling loud, Stars twinkling in the sky, Visible with lack of clouds, The street lights begin to flicker, I know time is running out, I still haven't made my choice, My mind is filled with doubt.
I close my eyes breathing deep, Trying to unwind, Hoping that the right decision, Is somewhere in my mind, The minutes tick by slowly, And as I open my eyes, I turn my gaze above me, To the star filled sky.
I had been asking for guidance, But now it is all so clear, My mind had been overcome, With uncertainty and fear, But now I realise it doesn't matter, Which path I choose, Because in the end it's down to me, If I win or if I lose.
