Mrs Foley‘s Baby Boy!A Poem by MaireadA Poem I wrote for Mick Foley of professional wrestling fame.Mick Foley is a legend in his own right, As I kid I always loved watching him fight, Whether he was Mankind, Dude Love or Cactus Jack, Jumping from cages or impaled with thumb tacks, With tables ablaze and ‘Barbie’ the bat, He'd knock his opponents down to the mat, Go for the pin and the one, two, three, Establishing his place in history.
He has always been a hero of mine, I'll never forget the day I met him in 2009, TNA came to Dublin and I travelled down, From Belfast by bus but I could not frown, For I knew that I would get to see Mick, I was so nervous, I could have been sick, But he was so nice, so sweet and polite, Meeting him truly was the highlight of my night. When I look at that photo, it still makes me smile, My reminder of Mick's visit to the Emerald Isle.
So this is my poem for the Hardcore Legend, I can only wish I could call him my friend, You give us fan’s so much joy, Mrs Foley’s Baby Boy! But as long as you are in the world I'll be happy, Whether wrestler, author or special guest referee, You'll always be my hero, Mr Foley. © 2011 Mairead |
