2 Peas in a Pod

2 Peas in a Pod

A Poem by Mairead

The sky is a little dimmer,
The wind a bit more cold,
Time has gotten tangled,
It's Monday I am told,
Less than 24 hours,
Not even a full day,
Since we got the terrible news,
That you had passed away,
I don't know what to make of it,
I don't know how to believe,
That such a world can exist,
A world without my Pea,
My heart feels like it's broken,
That it's split in two,
How can the Earth keep turning,
How can each day start anew,
When you're not longer in it,
Surely it must be a mistake,
A misunderstanding,
And we'll find out at daybreak,
Because the alternative can't be possible,
There is no way it can be true,
You can't have one Pea in the Pod,
It's 2 Peas, me and you.
