To Be With You

I would do anything to lie here with you

and keep our minds as clear as a whistle blowing

stay in a place where nothing matters

feel wind instead of loss

freedom instead of pain

holding hands like our lives depended on it

believing nothing and yet understanding everything

having pleasure without having to try

in a place where night is day

hearts are full

whispers are conversations

ache is just a word

we can overwhelm ourselves with our imaginations

spread the wings that were tucked away

learn to fly as if it were an instrument

let love rain down on us like a storm

take the boulder off our heavy hearts

but if all this is hopeless

I would do anything to just be

be with you
