Day 15 and 16A Chapter by Evie Asha Kirana15th and 16th day of my 21 day challenge!!!
Day 15 (22nd January):
Meditation: I woke up and did some meditation straight away for about 20 minutes, I like meditating in the morning because it really helps with getting some clarity and perspective during the rest of the day. I am finding that using my mantra ('om') and focusing on the vibrations is very very effective at calming the mind. Exercise: I swam for half an hour, doing 40 lengths - 30 breast-stroke and 10 front crawl. I didn't want to go too mad because I found that my arms ached quite a lot for some reason. Maybe all the press ups I've been doing! Work on my business: I drew up some UV T-shirt designs and made sure that all of my designs so far were suitable to put up on my facebook page and show people. I also finalised which designs I would be doing for my first batch of t-shirts. Drawing: I basically just did some doodling, but I have really been getting into zentangle drawings, I find them really fun! For those of you who don't know what that is, it is basically drawing shapes on a page that seperates the page into sections, and then drawing spontaneous repetitive patterns in each and colouring it. It sounds a bit stupid I know but some that I have seen have been absolutely AMAZING! So you can make really effective and easy designs. Spending time/doing things for others: In the evening I went to see my best friend, we had a long chat and ate some vegan sweets and banana chips mmmm! I think she really needed to talk to someone about things that have been happening recently, and we both regard each other as a shoulder to cry on. So I was happy to do this, and left her seeming happy and relaxed! Day 16 (23rd January): Meditation: Nowadays sometimes I have to make do with meditating on the bus! This is quite challenging and not ideal, but it will only improve my technique. It's always good to mix things up a bit anyway! Drawing/work on my business: Today I made another design, of a foot, which I think will look cool in UV on a T-shirt, maybe with patterns on it as well, and I thought maybe I could draw some zentangle designs on it for added detail. I also took photos of all my designs so far and uploaded them to my facebook page, as well as prompting friends of mine to share my page. I will have 100 followers in no time!! Doing things for others: I didn't manage to do much today, but I did spontaneously do the washing up which my Mum would have ended up doing. She didn't seem to notice and I know it's a normal thing to be doing and it hardly took me any effort at all, but it's the little things that matter I think! Exercise: I did some yoga today, still working on my short hamstrings, as well as some tough core-strengthening poses like boat pose and the wheel, this was very energising! I am 3/4 of the way through my challenge! And still everyday I am feeling better, and more positive about everything. The strict daily routine has helped me and I'm sure I will take what I have learned into my everyday life and uni work even after this challenge has finished. I feel so much stronger in body, spirit, and mind. WOWEE!
