Her realityA Poem by EvermoreNightJust a little something loosely based off of the symptoms of insanityInsanity, A state of mental illness; madness She can’t tell reality from an illusion anymore She can hear them in the back of her mind Her own personal monsters that live in her head She screams for them to shut up but they only seem to get louder She can’t tell what is real anymore It starts like a panic attack Then her reality is altered and she can hear them She gasped for air as though she were drowning Her fingers rake her skin to try and wake up herself up It never works, no matter how hard she try She can’t wake up from this nightmare of hers But yet she can’t seem to go to sleep She is trapped in a suspended state She tears herself apart to try and feel human again Maybe if she cut a little deeper the voices will stop This time maybe if she listened to them they will stop She just wanted them to stop, she dreamed of silence For a moment silence comes Her mind is clear and she sees her reality The blood dripping down her arms This is her reality now © 2016 EvermoreNight |
