Away

Away

A Poem by EvermoreNight
"

For the monsters in my mind

"
I look at the sky and wonder why...
Is it time to say goodbye?

And then again the thoughts come
Would anyone miss me?
Would it hurt to go...
Is it time to go?

These thoughts hurt my mind.
They bring out the monster that snaps and bites.
So I run and hide faraway

No matter how far I run
The monster's still there, watching
Waiting for me to come out

So I hide here
In a closet of my mind
With naught but a small knife

As the monster paws at the door
I look back and wonder where time has gone
I miss the times when I could look at the sky and wonder why.

I hold the knife tight in my hand
I need to feel something
To get away from here

Away from the monster
Away from my mind
Away from the passing of time
Away from myself.

This poem is amazingly haunting and I got shivers down my spine while reading it.

The only flaw/typo I noticed was in your second versus where "came" should be "come" as the rest of your poem is in the present tense, which you use very well to drive the reader forward in an introspective way.
