Follow in the footsteps

A poem I wrote about the world we live in, and how it should be forgotten before we build a new one.

Follow the footsteps
of a world less mourned
a land without fear
an ocean without sand

follow the footsteps
of a deity untamed
by the truth of evil
and the lie of good

follow the footsteps
of a hero unnamed
the blackened sight
of enlightened blind

follow in the footsteps
in the voiceless bird
the songless calls
of musical whispers

follow in the footsteps
of a life unforgotten
by the bloody breath
of empty veins

follow in the footsteps
of all that shall come
let the world be forgotten
a shadow beneath our feet
