Blooming

Blooming

A Poem by EverEmma

Aching
Wishing
Wanting
Regretting
I need it
It changed me
It nurtured me
Held me close
Promised me the stars
And vowed to
Never let go
Until it did
And I was a flower
Beautiful and
In full bloom
I didn't wilt
Like everyone
Thought I would...
I thrived
Grew taller
Stronger
Bigger
But then
Time passed
Too much
For it to last
Now here
I am
Lingering
Trying
Building up
My strength
Until another year has passed
Because this year,
I wasn't
In season

I adore this. It is so simple yet so powerful. This is beautiful poetry! The comparison to your heart and a flower is such a pretty image.

I like the description in the poem. To desire rebirth and not be in season left the reader with a sad ending. Thank you for the excellent poem.
