AfterimagesA Poem by EverEmma
However the image enters
Its force remains within My eyes Four caverns Each of a different fate They surround an audience One burns with heat And the licks of flames spit outward Lighting the crowd's faces Another with ice and jagged edges Sending chills through the already shaking bodies Of their prey One is less menacing A green like Lily's eyes The last is a deep violet With the pungent odor of rotting That clamps hands around noses We all survived the first round Now we must wait for the Lord To make his decision He stands before the red abyss Its size dwarfing his snake-like figure All the power In just one flick One mutter One snap His robes billowing As he paces The massive arena Yet for some reason I feel important Because he spared me.
