Sidewalks

Sidewalks

A Poem by EverEmma

I remember that feeling
That warm summer night
When I saw my name in lights
And I realized
What I was born to do

I now chase that feeling
Like an addict and alcohol
It fuels me
To keep spinning
Words
And stories

I run after it
Tripping and stumbling
Sometimes falling flat on my face
And staying there for a while
But somehow always managing to get back up

We all take this journey
Some get too scraped up
And stay down
But not me
I've stained enough sidewalks red to know
That you always
Feel better
Once you've gotten up

oh this is a heart enriching melody of trails of light ~ once you've found the threads with which to weave your life no scissors are sharp enough to cut them no matter what~ perseverance and faith in one self come through beautifully in this gloriously inspirational poem~

Once you fall down, there's nowhere to go but up. Unless you want to stay down for the rest of your life.

Your words are filled with an emotional courage that simply sings through each line. I'm glad you're back.. glad you don't stay down for long, but fight fierce to live and share that life with us.
