Moon

Moon

A Poem by EverEmma

I didn’t notice the night had gotten so old

As I looked up from my typewriter

My only light was the glowing moon

Sitting way up in the midnight sky

I heard the wind pick up and the clouds rumble

On this night of winter

On this morning of winter

I get up when the fall is old

The floor rumbles beneath me

And shakes my typewriter

The sun is trying to warm the sky

But it cannot defeat the power of the moon

I gaze out the window and I see the sun and moon

Out comes the Queen of Winter

Sitting in the cold sky

She was last here when the fairies weren’t old

I wrote on my typewriter

She made the town rumble

Her voice made the Earth rumble

As she whispered to the moon

My words fell off the typewriter

I was enveloped in winter

The sun’s light was getting old

I see stars in the sky

In the beautiful sky

The sun began to rumble

It was weak, old

From fighting the battle of the moon

I wave to the Queen of Winter

As I sit by my typewriter

I drop my typewriter

And it startles everyone in the sky

On this bitter day of winter

The echo becomes a rumble

I bid the sun farewell and say hello to the moon

For the day is getting old

My old house and my black typewriter,

The moon in the sky,

All endure the rumble of winter

Mate, this one kinda deep don't you think? I don't know maybe it's just me but I have to read it again and again until I got the real meaning of it...

This is very different type of read for me. It seems to read like a story more then a poem. It is very good. The only thing I can think of to be changed maybe is the use of the word rumble. It seems to be used to much. Like I said though it is a very good read.

We all age dont we, we all grow old in time, we cant do a thing about it can we?
sitting by your black typewriter, watching the eternal fight between sun and moon, you see the balance we all need, 's a very good Poem indeed

I like the idea of the moonlight being 'so old' as you put it...that's a beautiful image.
