Very well written, It made me feel guilty, I have a sixteen year old daughter, I shall give her more of my time from now on, its like seeing it from her side, well done, and thank you, C.
First hand experience.........yes, girls can be terribly cruel. Well written with emotion, sadly some women are not much different, but its their lacking........sadly.
Ack... I know this so well. I grew up on the narrator's side, so once again can definitely relate... Very descriptive, my favorite line has to be "Tears stream down your imperfect cheeks, the vine of envy grows, it is wrapped around your neck, strangling you"... Beating ourselves up like you describe truly feels like that. :(
"Girls are the cruelest of beings
Self confidence is non-existent
It's simply nature"
I love those lines. I've never heard that before but I think you're right. Girls are as cruel as can be and more than half of them just don't care about making the less fortunate girls feel bad by flaunting their outside perfection, while their pure evil and ugliness on the inside. But you have to remember: There are girls that are beautiful AND nice. Maybe not beautiful in the make-up wearing, dress wearing, way but in the natural, plain way. I find I like those girls better. Good job, Em. I'm sure people can relate, because I know I can.
your poem weeps~ and yes~ girls can be very cruel to each other and some carry that cruelty into womanhood~ the pitiless callousness stems from their own lack of self worth which they can only feel for brief bursts by belittling others~in the long run they are nothing more than hollow little dolls with ugly little centers which eventually comes through and which no one wants to be around in the long run~
I was lucky. Never care to be like other people. Easy to feel different. But I believe no-one is perfect. Sometime many put up a good show. The different in people make us more interesting. When i was young. I like the girl with the good book in her hand. Someone to have some conversation with. A very good poem. Age teaches us to accept what we are.

If it is 2013, and you are reading this, what are you doing here? What am I doing here is probably the better question, though. Ah well, carry on.
