Sounds FamiliarA Poem by EvelynDid you think that somehow The old me will remain That I'd still be in that skin Where I'd cut through the pain? Am I suppose to reflect without succeeding progression where I blindly care for someone that holds me in toxic possession? "At least you have a good job" the people are mislead to believe but don't be fooled by the exterior it's just me mindlessly pounding on keys it's always the same office space in a different location and your brain gets so fucked you begin to say "oh yes this is what I'm made for, this is my vocation" Do I wander around as lost as before or do I wander around for a purpose? well, I'm never quite sure So I question what I was taught and I question some more and I question the questions to the point where they soar What is the truth? What is the lie? Who cares? We love the illusion! Just swipe and buy, buy, BUY They want it new and they want it bigger they want to look younger and insert a new figure Tell me again how we are progressing? Cause from where I stand the human race is constantly regressing Their eyes are all square programs filling their tank and they speak to me as though I care what they think But they don't think what they think that's the whole f*****g problem they think what they think how the f**k do we solve them? How are they not seeing past corporate agenda? They wait for the weekend cause that's the media message they send us You give us five and we'll give you two We'll release you when you're old but you must give us your youth And that my friend is the only truth © 2017 Evelyn |
