Eerie October.A Poem by EveeWhen I turned into my worst fears.
A few cards short of a full deck,
Eerie October, when I lost my own bet. 'Always and forever', I turned a blind eye, Salt streams down your eyes, was the moment I said my worst lie. I still wear your initial whistling in the dark, My hands, still red with the blood of our Skylark. Unlatched the fifth door with my name as you 12:11 wish, On this empty road, I hope to be in at the finish. You're arcane, never wore a heart on your sleeve, Now your Heart starves 'us' as you watch me leave. Does it hurt, calling my tears Blue? When the screams of my past sound familiar and true. Point out my flaws, call me a liar, But believe me, A burnt child dreads the Fire. Your irony of love was itself a dead lie, Ever wondered, what brings us back with each goodbye? You swallow your words with alibi of your door covered with rust, Now, I yearn for them to remain unspoken for when I bite the dust.
