I love you

I love you

A Poem by Grey Evanescent

I love you
She said.

But only Silence
Heard her.

I love you
She said

But their distance
Only grew

I love you
She said

The breeze
Brought her soft voice
To his ears

He turned around
But he only saw
The empty street

So he turned back
And walk only farther

He will always be too far
For her

So unreachable
Like the nonexistent

End of the sky

And she will be like
The dancing flowers
On the green fields

...

Once picked
From the ground
Will die

and

Only their
Dead petals
Can fly freely

I enjoyed this read quite a bit. The way he fails to notice her is perfectly described in the lines
"He turned around // But he only saw // The empty street"
Perhaps the most painful thing is to come to realise one loves a person that seems to not even notice them.
