My Dear RealityA Poem by Grey EvanescentA personification of my runaway trainThe hallway was dark,
Empty and silent except for the water droplets from the ceiling crack. And I was alone. Walking by myself, lost in thought, lost in my silly daydreams. But a sudden screeching noise, of metal scraping against metal, resonated within almost deafening my unprepared ears. A dragging sound of footsteps neared. Fear crept, my body vibrated, my heartbeat quickened. I was about to run away, like how I always do, but I saw her. Walking towards me, wearing ragged clothes and in her hand was a shiny knife where I could see my reflection. I tried to escape, but surely I'm not sane for thinking like that Wherever I went... left... right... she followed me... No... All along I wasn't running away.... from her... I was running around... within her... The reality I couldn't accept. Reality, Reality, her name rolled off my tongue. She is not as beautiful as we all think. But, Flawed and Scarred And dangerous, much more dangerous ... than we all think. © 2017 Grey EvanescentAuthor's Note
