Perfectly shattered.

Perfectly shattered.

A Poem by Eva Luna

Sometimes it’s not hard

you take one glance of a person,

and there face is already engraved in your memory, You just know.

You know they are the person,

you will call

  at 4 am.

When you are imploding,

And you heart along with your dinner is spilled on the cold tiles,

and you cry and cry because you are numb but so hurt all at the same time.

and you are stupid and useless and why can’t you love him.

You wont need to worry for a second,

That they’ll judge your insanity shouts,

and your drunk screams for anyone out there.

When you are hopeless and yell echoing the empty room,

“I’m sorry, but I can’t love you. I’m a shipwreck, a catastrophe, a broken vase.”

He is the one who yells back,

“No! Baby, shut your soft lips. You are royalty, a princess, my queen.

You, my darling are the masterpiece, the complete vase.

You are the moon and I am the sun, and I would die a thousand deaths

just so you could shine and light up the dark, like you do.

And all the stars, they only come out to see you.

You are the heartbeat I want to hear every night, slow and safe

You are the soft curves in the dark

when you wake up at night wearing nothing,

 but underwear.

You are the girl who smokes, spins until she gets dizzy and laughs until she faints.                                                          And the freckled nose that crinkles when you smile.

You are the girl who kisses me until my lips are numb,

and the thin hips that I hold in my palm.

You are not a shipwreck, a catastrophe, a broken vase.

 You are mine.
