I write on unruled paper,
My words flow freely across the page,
Not a line to control where my poetry go,
They know no limit, restriction or cage,
My words do not march on a predictable road,
A monotonous, tedious drone,
They skip and prance along alley ways,
For they prefer to be alone,
My words they do not follow rules,
Like a caged bird to stay within what is known,
They strive to explore, exceed expectation,
For my bird, uncaged, has flown,
I hope you too do learn the joy,
To write on paper unruled,
For if you believe you must follow the lines,
Then you certainly have been fooled.
