ROUND 1
B L O W UP - revisited
I resigned at 2:17 p.m. with the healthy intention of heading to A safe haven for much needed PEACE, COMFORT, SLEEP, and a Half Hour Shower. It's a routine I've been getting too comfotable with. It's a routine I've been getting a little too tired of. I needed to break free. And as if on cue, the AIRSTRIKE came right in time. It was a TEXT message from the one and only, Ashley Sta-tuus, that read: Call me when your done with work. Being someone who usually trades in sanity, soul healing time, peace and quiet for random acts of silliness, I did as I was so rightfuly told to do. I called, and found myself at T.G.I. FRIDAY's with an enormous JD Burger staring right at me, and a deilicious Cabo 'Rita that would not stop making eye contact with me. One sip, two sips, three bites and I found myself with the GOOD intention of agreeing with the equaly buzzed Ashely, to take a savage nose dive into the heart of FUN...BLOW UP? Yeah, sure why the hell not? It has been a long while after all. It was gonna be a lovely little, short visit. I needed a breath of FRESH AIR.
We stocked up on SPARKS and headed towards the city.
Good God! It feels great to be back! But I must NEVER forget: I'm only here as a VISITOR or as Tyler Durden/Jack (Fight Club) would call Marla Singer: "TOURIST". I'm a TOURIST roaming around trying to get a feel for the lovely controled chaos. I'm only here as a spectator, and nothing more. Sure, I may look the part of a regular, but I did not stop by to fool anyone. The nice, cool breeze and the Sparks I just downed is making me laugh and smile...uncontroably. And that's more than OK. It's Cool.
The NOISE - Beautiful Sounds, Melodies, Beats remind me of the GOOD Hit I so desperately needed to once again, kick start my heart.
I haven't missed much, because I wasn't expecting much. I did manage to say "HELLO" to the super charismatic, enigmatic and ubove all: Ultra-Cool RiChiE PaniC. I just wanted the mixture of SPARKS and LOUD MUSIC to help me FEEL GOOD. And it did just that.
Good friends: a host of randomly and lively bunch, indeed! Good company. Random, Funny and Slightly Memorable conversations and a good vibe fllowed throughout the club. The GOOD company remind me of the [weekend] fun I had been depriving myself of (for quiet a long time now). But this is no "COMEBACK" by any means. I must NEVER foget - keep in mind: I'm only here as a "TOURIST". I could not help but feel shivers run down my spine, at the thought of becoming consumed by this lifestyle once again. There's nothing wrong with it---I think it's great, the key players are modets, friendly and very welcoming---it's just not my cup of tea anymore. Theses days, I have my Fun on the Weekdays (those Super Silly-Documented-Crazy-Fun-Dangerous times will be divuldge when the time is RIGHT). Sometimes I need that reminder ---good kick in the a*s---of the joy I had been SOULy missing.
Randomly, which seems to be the case when you have one too many drinks, I found myself thinking: "One day soon, yes, LadyDevine...uh, Melanie, you will be IN THE MiX. You too will get lost in the silliness of it all. Until then, I'll CHILL OUT, HANG OUT and ENJOY the GOOD VIBE in your name. As the Martyr for those in need of a very GOOD TiME, I gulped down the SPARKS faster than anyone around...for a good cause that is. Not too long ago (7 days ago, to be exact) I managed to laugh in the face of Authority, Higher Ups, A Garden Variety of District Managers (all while in a silly state of mind) and in return, I would get praise and words of encouragement for "A JOB WELL DONE", "KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK" - What a total mind-f**k." Yeah, I seem to be rambling. Those other stories will be told when the time is RIGHT.
And then, suddenly, Diorable (Link) has to go and save Cassie (Zelda ) with the help of PEREZTON, and Nick/JESUS: Good, great people that know how to have a GOOD TIME. I Must NEVER FORGET that. I sure HOPE they save her. I hope they had a GO0d, Great TIME. And off they go reminding me that this is to be a short and sweet visit. That was part of the DEAL.
And somewhere inside of me, I look forward to an early shift that requires my complete FOCUS, QUESTIONS that NEED to be ANSWERED and GOOD JUDGEMENT: GOD, I LOVE A GOOD CHALLENGE.
A pulsating-funny feeling runs through me, and sparks the funny notion of staying 'til LAST CALL, and then having to work at 6 a.m. the very next day. I REALLY DO LOVE A GOOD CHALLENGE. But I would be doing no such thing.
Of course it ends without a "BANG", and not like it was supposed to, but it would have been nice. I felt a PULSE and I guess that's ALL I NEEDED. But, usually, that's how things go: an echo of something that could have been magically sweet and surely wasn't. But, that's OK, cuz that's just how life is. And not to seem like a rotten b*****d, but I take life as it is handed to me: Raw, Deliciously Random, Unforgiving, nutriciously Beautiful, sometimes Heartless, and always sprinkled with a dash of HOPE. Because there's ALWAYS HOPE, a Way Out. I always make sure that there is a WAY OUT.
I found a Way Out alright. I made it out ALIVE: sleepless and restless for far too long, my heart beats were in sync with the beat of the music & I felt really good, dangerously good.
