I'm Not For You

I'm Not For You

A Poem by VertoAtrum
"

A poem about having feelings for monogamous people when you're non-monogamous and how it hurts that you can't be with them.

"
When I fall for you I don't use my head,
It's too full of thoughts of you instead,
Too late to realize,
I've set my demise,
Pouring over all I could have said

My brain catches up, it screams at me,
Don't hold out your hope! It can never be,
They're not the same,
You'll just go insane,
They'd never accept polyamory

I just want to express what I feel,
When I look at you, nothing else is real,
I'm lost in your laugh,
But on my behalf,
I'd never ask you to make that deal

I know there's someone out there,
Who will be what you need, that's fair,
They'll be there for you,
Like I couldn't do,
Of the fact that I'm unfit, I am aware

I still wish that I could be with you,
But my fantasies can never come true,
It won't be the same,
But here I'll remain,
Not green with envy, but blue
