Second In Line

Second In Line

A Poem by VertoAtrum
"

About feeling second place to everyone you fall for. Never the first choice. Always someone "better" out there than me.

"
I'm used to being second,
It just comes naturally,
There's always someone else,
It's never only me

Thanks a lot,
No it's fine,
Don't mind me,
Just in line

I'm never your first choice,
I've never been the best,
What are the things that make me,
Worse than all the rest

I'm right here,
But you can't see,
Blinded by others,
Done with me

What is it that's so wrong,
Am I boring, mean, or bland?
My fingers reach for you,
While you grasp another's hand

Wishful thoughts,
Pounded out,
Left me behind,
I had no doubt

The moon in the daytime,
I'm the one not spoken of,
I'll always be neglected,
The runner up in love

This is a kind of poem that leaves an impact. I'm sorry if you feel like this. I know the pain of never being someones firsts choice or even a choice. It can really hurt. I hope that one day you will be someones first and only choice.
