LOOK BEFORE LEAPING

LOOK BEFORE LEAPING

A Poem by Ethel
"

It's an admonishment to all adults at certain crossroads in life, to make decisions only after it's been carefully thought out.

"
I couldn't say this more;
Look left, right and left again.
This, did kids recite and nod.
So, I baffle why adults crash.

That which forced your leap before a look,
Could only stare the pain in your look.
To cut figure before society,
Many swags at crossroads and crash.
Likewise broken wives of Nod.

Why let the press alter your image?
Look before you leap, you know.
Relay this while you spouse hunt,
If happy ever after must be your tale

The depth of your words are powerful.
And very real.
I feel as though I'm at that crossroads myself.

Impulsive choices, made for the wrong reasons, make for years of future pain. Alas, when we make these choices, we are usually too young and foolish to realize what a path we are plotting.
