Reality's Dream

Reality's Dream

A Poem by Jess
"

Extra credit for English, 2009. It was inspired by the wonderful movie The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (2005). I advise those who like old classics to watch it.

"

In the dark
He comes for you.
Arm raised high,
A sharpened edge.
Gasping breaths,
Screams on your lips,
A light shines,
You see the truth.
What you feared
Was just a dream.

Creepy...
Dreams like this don't wear off 'til the sun comes up, and even then you still can't help but look over your shoulder from time to time.
*smile* Very good.

Were you also inspired by Virginia Woolf? As I read this poem my mind went straight to her. Anywho, this piece was simple but very eloquent. It was beautiful and precise. Great write.
