Fallen PetalsA Poem by Eternal PoetWhen all seems not apparentYou gave me a rose a royalty amongst flower's
to symbol a love you promised was ours, with word's like these I felt belonged but hollow they were, from a dancing tongue. You caught my heart in moments leap as the pendent of love began to sweep, words that hung out of grasp the fall of my heart, was the leap of collapse. The scent of a rose your lips so sweet embraced in the petals my love complete, words so strong they stood alone only to topple, from a kiss I blown. So foolish a heart that listened to lies to a promised love on a rose that dies, the trophy of love was my heart you torn which you impaled to the stem, of your rose thorn. © 2012 Eternal Poet |
