for old time's sake.

for old time's sake.

A Poem by Tessa Le Rouge
"

i'm losing her, again... and it's just not looking good.

"

i'm covered in the fragrance of the michigan.

i'm sitting here shakey and uncertain.

tasting bitterness of "what used to bes".

while you look right through me.

you're lost in a better place,

an "anywhere but here" place.

you're quiet and unamused,

and i know i'm losing you.

all it took was one excuse,

one mistake and i lost you.

now i'm homeless and confused.

all i want is to be with you.

you stare out into the lake

looking for an escape.

while i sit here and pretend

this is something we can mend.

but cold stares and empty hands

leave me uncertain and frightened.

last chances don't exist with you.

i'm not ready for this dance to be through.

so let the music play, mr. music man.

i've got miles to go before neverland.

just once more tune "for old time's sake."

one more dance before the clock strikes late.

but cold stares and empty hands
leave me uncertain and frightened. - I recently felt this, and I can relate.

Great write, though melancholy and heartbreaking in its core. Great to see you haven't lost your touch, starry-eyed Astoria...
