i'm just tired

i'm just tired

A Poem by Esther Lynn

I am an old soul, burdened by what was,
the treacherous memories,
the things I've seen.

She is a young soul, electrified,
passionate, on fire...
so alive.

I am dreadfully dull, just
skin and bones.
Nothing extraordinary.
Not even a little.

She is curious, magnificent
intrigued by everything
and so very extraordinary
every piece.

I'm so tired, so tired.
you deserve much better
than these old, overused
pieces of me.
You deserve much better
than these tired eyes,
weak arms, cracked lips,
burdened shoulders,
and heavy heart.

you deserve all she is,
all she was
all she
will
be.
