My Self-Crafted Prison

My Self-Crafted Prison

A Poem by Esther:)
"

A poem to explain the feeling of trapping yourself in an emotional cave

"
Hidden inside a cave,
That was hollowed out by my pain,
The echoes of worthlessness
Resounded stronger in my ears.
And the deafening blare of those words once spoken,
Refused to be silenced.

So hands from the shadows,
Dragged me into the darkness that surrounded me.
They sewed me to the fabric of my loneliness
And sealed the entrance to my cave.

Sunshine dared not enter my dreary cave,
For I chased away the flowers that I desired,
When they split open
The rocks of doubt which held up my heart.

Trapped in a abyss with no air,
I suffocated from the weight of my own thoughts.

But in the end I realized,
I was the one who created that cave.
