![]() Time lost in ThoughtA Story by Estella![]() This is an AU from the hit anime series, Attack On Titan. Eren gets lost in a museum late after its closed, thankfully the not-so-kind night guard Levi was there.![]()
I stumbled around the darkly lit museum, the only light he could use to see was the moon light floating in from the skylight high above me.
Just earlier that day, I had been wandering the same halls in the light of an overly-bright sun. Now, in the dark hours of Twilight, the menagerie became a haunted house of absurdity that could drive the most sane person into the ever-deepening cesspool of hysteria. I creeped around the museum, a dinosaur skeleton almost scared him to death. I was trying to not set off any alarms in the different galleries, I watched many spy movies and knew enough to keep out of the multiple security camera's sights. The smell of dust and shoe shiner overwhelmed my senses, drowning myself in a dry, chemical-lemon lake. A sensor with a pulsing red light caught my attention, I swiveled my head to look straight into the eye of the camera, an unblinking void. Suddenly, a piercing shriek escaped the camera, looping around, continuing to alert the guards of my unwanted presence. "Crap crap crap crap..." I chanted under my breath, hurrying to a dark corner where I would absolutely be seen. Footsteps echoed from the hallway that connected the two galleries, I crouched further back into the corner, trying to become one with the wall. "I don't see anything, a mouse must have triggered the alarm," a beautiful voice yelled. The voice flowed through my veins like blood, dark and beautiful. But also metallic and slightly violent, like the owner of the voice was always itching for a fight. "Well, then we should probably put out traps." Another voice answered, the owner stood just in the light for me to see. They were a girl with long brown hair tied up in a high ponytail, but wisps of hair still escaped her ponytail, framing her face in a nice way. She wore glasses, but the way she peered everywhere made me suspect she couldn't see well, regardless of wearing glasses or not. Oh god, a sensation came over my nasal cavity, it tingled and stung, the dust swelled in my nose, I couldn't stop it, no matter how much I tried. I sneezed. I sneezed a monstrous sneeze, like "run the kraken is upon us," sneeze. "Hey s****y glasses, did you sneeze?" The beautiful voice asked "No...?" The girl replied. "Then who did?" I was so busted. Footsteps drew closer to my not-so-secret hiding place in the corner, I could feel there i was closing in on my shape in the shadows. A crackle came from the girls coat pocket, an indistinctive voice barked orders at the girl. "Crap, the boss needs me, Levi, is it ok if I blast?" The girl asked, obviously not actually caring about the guys response. "Yeah sure, whatever Hange." The guy called Levi waved her away, the girl fled down the halls, her shoes clacking against the marble floor. "You can come out now, brat," The guy groaned, shining a flashlight in my corner. I slowly stepped out of my lightened foot of space and towards Levi, gasping when I saw his face. now, his voice might have been beautiful, but he was gorgeous. His short black hair cut short around the sides, under that it was shaved, he was the only man on the earth who could rock an undercut that well. He had a permanent scowl on his face, disdain for me shone in his angry dull blue eyes. He was short, that was undeniable. I felt titanic standing close to him, peering down at his always annoyed facial features. "Cute..." I muttered, then clasped my hand over my mouth, knowing he heard me but still hoping he didn't. "Tch, you flatter me, brat," he growled, not looking me in the eyes. "But fist you are going to have to tell me why you are lurking around here after hours, then we can flirt." I could feel the sudden rush of blood to my cheeks, exposing myself to my emotions. "I, um... Well, I-" He cut me off, raising a hand to silence me. "Spit it out, brat. We get loads of characters here at night, no story is too strange. Talk to the guy who came here higher than a kite and thought he was making out with a DaVinci painting ,but really he was screaming at a bust of a dog." He sighed, waving me on for me to continue my story. "Well, I accidentally slipped and knocked the lock on the bathroom door, and it wouldn't open no matter what I did, I couldn't open the door. I stayed there for hours and I finally escaped by crawling out of the air vents." I breathed, Levi raised an eyebrow, but didn't comment. "Really?" He asked, I knew it, he was skeptical. I mean, if I heard someone tell this very unreliable story to me, I wouldn't believe them either. "No-" I confessed. "Actually I passed out from dehydration while I was in the bathroom. I woke up a little bit ago and was wandering around looking for the exit when you found me." I sighed, taking a certain interest in my shoes. "Now that makes more sense," He commented. He snapped a finger under my face, my attention snapped back to his perfect, chiseled features. "I need to pat you down to see if you stole anything." He somehow said with a straight face. I nodded slightly, trying to cover my reddening cheeks. "I'm just f*****g with you. You don't have any pockets and I don't think you could smuggle a painting in your shirt without me noticing." Levi joked, slapping my arm harder than he probably meant to. I rubbed the spot where Levi had hit my arm, when I looked back up, Levi was already halfway out of the exhibit. "Where are you going?" I shouted, running to catch up with him. "Escorting you out, dumbass." Levi answered, I could hear the eye roll in that sentence. I followed him out to the Museum lobby (do museums even have lobbies?) Where he stopped in front of the entrance door and held it open for me. "What?" I asked, he nodded toward the door. I raised an eyebrow, and he nodded his head at the door again. "Leave," he mouthed. A realization dawned on me, I was slightly embarrassed that I didn't figure that out sooner. I stepped out into the cold night air, I immediately regretted taking on the frigid air and longed for the warmth of the barren museum. "And before you ask-" Levi declared, standing in the doorway. "Here." He handed me a piece of folded paper, I quickly grasped the paper from his hands, tucking it in my wallet. "Thanks." I smiled, giving him a two-finger salute, and walked off to find a cab at f*****g two o'clock in the morning.
