lost soul

lost soul

A Poem by Estefania G. Estrada
"

A strong female quickly lost her self in the fears that broke the heart. Searching for a new beginning but far to lost.

"
Once her soul was lost with fear.
Her fears became the fears she never knew were possible.
Fear bringing tears to her lonesome soul,
It tried to calm her heart.
But her heart was no where to be found.
Walls all around like a ring with no end.
Darkness was the light that gave no sight of her heart.
Her soul wanted freedom.
Her soul longed for a new beginning and to end the chapter of that life.
Why must the soul wait so long to be at peace.
Her heart broken into small pieces waited anxiously for many years.
Her soul wondered many miles, far away from the heart.
Both wanting closure to the life full of nightmares.
One day her heart found someone, its reflection big like no other.
Then suddenly her soul found something.
The feelings it wished to never know, to never feel and forget.
I'm the soul , lost in the darkness of a weak body.
The heart is mine , although I wish it not.
The two of us drifted apart once more into the dark.

I like the use of repetition in this poem 'fear' and 'heart' really strike a chord and reminds you of their meanings. This is a very dark poem that does offer a glimmer of hope, but then pulls you back 'like the ring with no end' or when the light at the end of the tunnel is an on coming train!
