Mirror-Kissers

Mirror-Kissers

A Poem by Esoteric Strand
"

A poem about the trials and tribulations of the Greco-Bactrian Kingdoms.

"

I fell asleep standing up

Blitzed in some foreign place

We awoke face-to-face

Lost in a different language

My ever worthless tongue found

We awoke mouth-to-mouth

A realm:

Where pretty girls

don’t bother with words.

Every vanity grandized

Every mirror polished

And every reflection,

sick with beauty.

I’ll always prefer a plastic-princess--

bathed in youth and innocence"

to those crusted crones that

inhabit every cynical, cancerous crack

I’ll gladly slave away for innocents,

like that Wolf.

The one that blows,

or the one that plays dress-up

just to get a little girl.

Either way,

The beast has great taste.

I lay my head on your chest.

Passed-out in front of the fan.

We awoke hand-in-hand

I fell asleep in your dream

So it was of no surprise,

when we awoke eye-to-eye.
