Hurt

Hurt

A Poem by Esoteric

Did you hear my beating heart,
before you ripped it from my chest?
In that moment of sweet interlude,
could you feel my soul's caress?

Does mine own pain bring you solace,
Are you wont to cause me more?
Was it your hand that I reached for,
as I collapsed upon the floor?

Can my tears provide the catalyst,
to wash away your sins?
Are you searching for an ending,
or is this where it begins?

If you reach beneath the scarring
to my tender, wounded soul;
would you wrap me in love's comfort
or would your hatred grow?

The face I see, the ghost I fear
the pains are mine to bear.
When I called to you in darkness
I found you were not there.

From the depths of oceans born of my tears
the love once was now never is.
Born and lived tormented I died
is this what you intended
when in pain to you I cried?
